As far as a Strip located hotel and casino go in Vegas, The Imperial Palace continues to offer one of the best values. The Imperial Palace, or the "IP" as cab drivers know it, is a great solution to seeing Las Vegas on a budget. Now, don't get me wrong, it's not the Bellagio or the Venetian, but it's not the city dump either. The Imperial Palace is clean, friendly, basic accommodations for the traveler that will only be in the room enough to catch a few Z's. So, what's the real value? The location! It is unbeatable in Vegas! the Imperial Palace is located directly across from Caesars Palace and just a few doors down from the Venetian. You'll also be conveniently located to the Mirage and Treasure Island as well. The Imperial Palace offers a down-to-earth atmosphere without all the hype. What you see is what you get at the IP. The hotel staff is friendly and the casino is active with loyal customers. The gaming staff seems to be a happy crew. When I was there a few months ago, they did a little mini-show right there in the middle of the casino. Here's the bottom line on the Imperial Palace: If you're only planning to be in your room 10% of your stay, book the Imperial Palace! If you want to have a great location right on the Strip and you're on a tight budget, book the Imperial Palace!
